Baking in oven is pretty challenging for me, especially because I am not confident working with the oven and to add to that, the oven I have now and the one I used before are totally different. Consequently, I thought to myself "What is very much like oven but is easier to operate?" Hmm, tough question but the answer was right above me "MICROWAVE OVEN". I started looking for snacks that can be made in microwave oven. Oops! Not made, baked in microwave oven. I know it's not the same but the consolation boosts my confidence so why not?

The first thing I came across were pizza in a mug recipe, but the simplicity of the recipe was commendable. Though the video maker did it in a mug, I decided to do it in a ceramic bowl since I had to make 2 servings (me and my hubby ^_^). So in the bowl, I first added flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. The instruction was to add a little bit of baking soda too but I didn't have any at that moment. Instead I added the same amount of baking powder. I then added the milk and oil before mixing up everything. Then came the toppings, I particularly didn't have the toppings they had. Apologies for that but I am never prepared and I always ended up cooking on a whim. If you read my previous blogs, you will know that by now. For the toppings, I spread out mayonnaise, followed by pizza sauce, cheese, onions, red chili flakes and red capsicum. I popped the bowl into the microwave oven and it took about three minutes to cook completely, although it may differ depending on which microwave oven you're using. Just to check if my dough was cooked completely (not wanting to eat raw food), I used a spatula to take the pizza out and place it on a plate. This ended up being a major mistake and my pizza broke from one corner before I could take a snap for my blog. Note to self: Always take a snap when things look good and then carry on with your experimentation.

The pizza definitely didn't taste like an actual oven-baked pizza (there were no crusts at all, my favorite part). Nevertheless, it is a good and quick way to satiate your pizza cravings when, like me, you don't have all the ingredients or are scared of ovens.

0.5 tsp baking Powder

1 pinch salt

6 tbsp milk
